Ordinance# 2023-1

 

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 6-5-20 OF THE LAWLER MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING REFUSE AND RECYCLING COLLECTION RATES FOR THE CITY OF LAWLER.

 

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Lawler, Iowa as follows:

 

Title VI, Chapter 5, Section 6-5-20 of the Municipal Code of the City of Lawler, Iowa, is amended by the following:

 

Section 6-5-20 Rates: There are hereby established rates for refuse and recycling collection supplied by the City of Lawler as follows:

 

Residential Rates

 

For a 35 gallon tote the monthly rate is: $14.05
For a 64 gallon tote the monthly rate is: $15.17
For a 96 gallon tote the monthly rate is: $17.02
Recycling (Residential) monthly rate is: $3.00 per dwelling unit.

 

Repealer. All ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed.

 

Severability Clause. If any section, provision or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall :not affect the validity of the Ordinance as a whole, or any section, provision or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.

 

When Effective.       This Ordinance shall be in effect upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by law.

POWER OF TREES

 

The City of Lawler is working with Trees Forever and Black Hills Energy for a Grant for a community-based tree-planting project. 

The City will ask $25 per tree for residents who would like to plant in their yards. (Cannot plant within the boulevard)  Please let Suzette Byrne, Jay Uhlenhake, Dale King or Jeremy Scheidel know if you are interested in tree. 

 

Projects will involve volunteers.  Please consider volunteering to help with city or your neighbors.

Jendro Sanitation will be closed on Monday, July 4th, 2022 for Independence Day.

 

ALL ROUTES WILL BE COLLECTED

1 DAY LATE THE WEEK OF JULY 4TH.

(Monday, July 4th routes will be collected on Tuesday, July 5th and so on through the week, with Friday, July 8th routes being collected on Saturday, July 9th.)

THIS CHANGE IS FOR ALL TRASH & RECYCLING ROUTES FOR THE WEEK OF JULY 4TH.

 

Please have all material out for collection by 5:00 am to ensure pick up.

RAGBRAI MEETING

The RABRAI Committee is planning to have a Lawler Community Meeting on

April 18, 2022 at 7:00pm @ Lawler City Hall

The RAGRAI Committee will need volunteers!!

Please come on board to work with social media to help get the word out.  We would need help with Ideas and any thoughts.  The town also needs a theme for RAGBRAI – ASAP

Would any local organizations (Lions Club, Irish Fest, Turkey Valley Boosters, Lawler Little League, Lawler Park Committee, etc. be willing to serve food or drinks to raise money.

Help cleaning up during RAGBRAI!
