Lawler City Council Meeting Minutes–November 2017

The Lawler City Council met in regular session on November 7, 2017 at 7:00 PM.

Mayor Mueterthies presided.

Council members present: Izer, Throndson, Zubrod and King.

Others present: Jay Uhlenhake and Cathy Humpal

Moved by King, seconded by Izer to approve the Agenda with one addition, Library Levy. All Ayes.

Moved by Izer seconded by Throndson to approve the previous minutes and current bills to be paid as presented.  All Ayes

Izer made a motion to let the library use the cities previous copier/printer at the libraries expense for maintenance.  Throndson seconded, all ayes.  Motion carried

Cathy Humpal spoke about the importance of county and city funds given to the library.  She went over the contract for Library Service with Chickasaw County.  She went over how funds are divided as agreed by the Libraries, Directors and the County.  Payments to the libraries will be $13,634.28 for 2018-2019 FY.   The of Lawler Library will receive 1.5% of the remaining basic fund.

The city will hold a public hearing for the vacating of the alley at W Main Street and N Center Street.   A motion made by King to hold Public Meeting December 4, 2017 at 7:10pm.  Seconded by Zubrod.  All Ayes.  Motion passed.

The council reviewed the Annual Financial Report presented.  A motion made by King and seconded by Izer to approve the AFR.  All Ayes, Motion passed.

Delinquent accounts were discussed.  The council would like to discuss with current landlords within the city regarding delinquent accounts.  The city would like to work with the landlords and tenants.   This will be on the December Agenda.

The next meeting will be December 4, 2017 at 7:00pm.

Moved by Izer and Seconded by Throndson to adjourn at 7:45pm.   All Ayes
