The Lawler City Council met in regular session on October 5, 2021 at 7:00 PM.
Mayor Mark Mueterthies presided.

Motion made by King to approve the Agenda

Jason Byrne can no longer represent the City of Lawler on the Turkey River Watershed Board because it would be a conflict of interest because he represents Chickasaw County. Suzette Byrne let the council know she would represent City of Lawler.
Motion made by Scheidel for Suzette Byrne to represent City of Lawler on the Turkey River Watershed Board. Second by Izer.

Dick Schnorenberg discussed having the city clean out the ditches which were filled in by private owners and requested it be done by April 2022. Jay informed the council Blazek’s had gave a quote to clean Lincoln St. ditch this fall. Kurt Croell informed the council Iowa Homeland Security will be here October 28, 2022 to look at all the problems within the city. Some of the problems include the culverts, and clean the waterway to slow the water through town. This will include the help from property owners. Iowa Homeland could fund up to 25% of the expense. Kurt informed the council the governor’s office will assist. This will be put on the November agenda after professionals look at the city.

John Brincks will rent the farm at $4,000 for one more year. He will them rent for $4,800 per year for the next 3 years. City attorney John Anderson will write up a new farm lease contract to reflect the change in payment.
Concession stand expenses to clean up after flood will be around $1400.00. Chris Rigel will fix the concession for $500.00. John Izer said he will pay half to cost.
Scheidel made a motion to have Chris Rigel to fix the concession stand. Second by Kuehner.

Mark said Chris Rigel will attach the vinyl base up on the walls. It was brought up purchasing new carpet for the meeting rooms in the city hall. Suzette said it is not in the General Fund for City Hall for the current fiscal year. The council will be waiting until spring for trim board.
Motion made by Scheidel to have Service Master clean the carpet and floors in the building. Second by King.

Mark stated the dike at Junko Park and lagoon has by repaired.
Mark gave update on Ambulance bids.
Delinquent accounts were discussed.
